Hello Anne,

I trained and owned my own pacing mare. We raced the county fairs in MN , WI, and the UP of MI. Sold my mare to the Amish when my daughter was born 17 years ago. I really miss that part of my life. I told the spine doctor at Mayo that I could fix any race horse in the barn that was lame but I couldn't fix me . That was the day I found out that I had MS...

I still own horses. My Appaloosa mare is 27 years old this year. Another interesting fact while I was at Mayo , the PT lady told me to get back on my horse, preferably bareback. She said the motion of the horse walking will keep my legs strong like I was walking myself. Hippotherapy

Once the ugly weather passes, It snowed here the other day in the great UP and its mucky and sloppy..plans are in the works to build a handicap ramp so I can get back on my horse. It's been 5 years since I rode and I can't wait !!!
