You don't AT THIS MOMENT. Yu can also have inflammation from low

coritols or low thyroid. But i suspect yours is from that tonsil

problem. SO fluctuating ferritin thta means nothign is the result. You

need more iron and need ot monitor it by IRON labs % saturation is the

most important one.

If saturation is good, high, would that mean iron IS being absorbed?Look at my iron labs from February:Iron 26.5 (9 - 34)Transferritin 2.7 (2 - 5)Trans. sat. 40% (15% - 57%)Ferritin 55 (30 - 250)Wouldn't these numbers correlate and actually make sense? If my absorption has gotten worse, which it might have been getting, would this make iron absorb worse and worse? One thing I notice with HC though: When I take my first dose of HC, after eating for 2-3 minutes to NOT take it on an empty stomach - After 10-15 minutes, it feels like I've had some BAD burritos and I gotta RUN to the toilet and what comes out of me looks like BADLY digested FOOD, not stools! :P And it smells ACIDIC.Would this reaction with HC mean I have too LOW or too

HIGH stomach acid? Hertoghe never measured any acids in me, but according to what I told him, he gave me Pancreatic Enzyme and BEATINE HCL to cure this problem. Would it be absolutely safe to take these two when we don't REALLY know if I have too much or too little stomach acid in me?I was thinking of starting Pancreatic Enzyme today and maybe BEATINE tomorrow!

When my stools get that way.....like undigested food, it's usually because I forgot to take my digestive enzymes, or because I had a candida kill. I think when our immune systems are compromised like so many of ours are on this forum, we are much more succeptible to candida (bad bacteria overgrowth). Certain foods like garlic, onion, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, etc., will naturally kill it, and for me it comes out with very loose stools. To keep this from happening, I avoid sugar, white flour, yeast, most dairy, gluten of any kind. I eat mostly vegetables, eggs, meat, and low fructose fruits like apples, strawberries, pears, etc. Use Stevia for sweetening, and NO caffeine or alcohol! (Sorry if this is going off-topic a bit, but it pertains to the undigested food issue). :)

Thanks Joan - Your input is much appreciated! Especially when people recognize themselves in others symptoms!I just wanted to add that: I eat and drink EXACTLY what you do - No sugars (except one slip every now and then! I HATE IT when I slip like that!), NEVER any alcohol, no cigarettes, no gluten, no grains of any kind, just meat, pultry, fish, salads and fruits like apples and the occasional banana. I also use GHEE as my main fat source, and some extra virgin organic olive oil on salads etc.I did get a reading on my candida test like almost 2 years ago. Maybe it's time to test myself again? To run a full stool-test?I will start Pancreatic Enzyme and BEATINE HCL tomorrow - But I know NOTHING about this! I am VERY afraid of BEATINE - IF I have TOO MUCH stomach acid already! Nobody

knows...PS! Mods, move/rename topic if you must! This is such an important issue for many of us in here!

> Also, could my steadily worsening digestion/problems with stomach and stools

(yellow/white/pale/smelly/soft all th etime) be the reason why I have such

problems absorbing iron?

This could indicate possible liver problems or maybe a gut infection like

Giardia. It's bile from the liver that colours and deodorises the stools. When

the bile is not going into the stools they are usually white - you might see

evidence of the bile spilling into the rest of the body, the whites of the eyes

go yellow, skin yellows, urine goes darker. You need a working liver for good

digestion. On the other hand a bug like Giardia can turn stools yellow and very

smelly and upset digestion badly.

Have you been checked for any sort of slow bleed, or for a gut pathogen that

would impact on your iron levels.

> I _did_ switch iron brand like 2-3 months ago. That COULD be it. But then

Ferritin should've fallen earlier than it did!

> Oh, could taking too many blood samples (2 every week average) be the reason

for my low Ferritin atm?

> I know, lots of questions! Hope I posted to the correct group! This could be

T3-related! (If I get more T4 I won't hold onto the iron or???)
