Hi Tani,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I am glad that you are doing

better. It makes me feel as if there's hope. I started progestin

(norethindrone 5mg tablets, 2 x a day, on August 19th. The doctor

said that I could take it for three months and then cut the dosage

in half after that. I don't like being on this medication, but the

bleeding has just about stopped (after 3 months straight)except

after intercourse. I 've already gained weight and feel as if my

emotions are way out there. I have so many fibroids(inside and out

my uterus) and am so bloated that I feel disgusting. One fibroid is

pressing on my back, the other on my uterus. My doctor said that a

hysterectomy is the way to go for me( the way that he said it, it

was like it's no big deal) so I went and had a second opinion and

this doctor said the same thing. Both doctors said that an ablation

was not for my situation and UME was risky and not too many doctors

around here perform it. So I'm just trying to deal with this the

best way that I can. But it concerns me to stay on this hormone,

especially with what I've heard about the connection to breast

cancer.

Thanks for listening to me,

Cathy
