Lara,

What kind of bad taste is it? Is it sour and do you have any film in

your mouth, like thrush? I've had to take Diflucan for that a number

of times, even before transplant when my immune system would go low.

If it is a metallic taste, you could be anemic - also something that

can result from having PSC for a while. I was anemic for years before

and now after my transplant. I'm sure other tastes can mean other

things, too. It might be worth a phone call to ask the doc...

Also, I mention this because despite my good doctors and pharmacist,

no one told me not to take the Urso and the Questran together. You do

know to take them hours apart. It is probably best to take the

Questran alone...I only mention it because everyone assumed I knew it

and I took them together for two years!

Hello all,I've been receiving treatment for PSC for about 2 years now, though it took a few years to figure out what was going on with me prior to diagnosis. I've developed a bad taste in my mouth for about the last 4 weeks, I'd been on a vacation in Mexico and thought it was the water/ice, but it's persisted since being home for 3 weeks. I take Urso (1200mg), naltrexone and questran daily. Does anyone else have this too or know if it would be related to the PSC or indicative of anything that I should bug my hepatologist about? Thanks for any thoughts.Lara Andersen39 y.o. Mom to 2 great girls

When I was on Actigall I remember the sheet that came with the

prescription mentioned a metallic taste as a possible side effect. The

URSO info doesn't seem to mention it. Even though the active

ingredient is the same, the formulation is different.

Thanks for the reply Deb,

I actually have had a handful of times failry recently that I had an

excess of filmy stuff in my mouth(not painful and no open sores) and

just fished it out with a kleenex, gross- sorry, but hadn't connected

it with the psc. I'll definitely bring this up as well as a look for

anemia, as I've had several nose bleeding episodes that we're trying

to account for too. I do take the questran at least 2 hrs after the

actigal, which is a nuisance to have to drag around with me- but

appreciate the info.

again, thank you
