Guest guest
Geeta Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh the things that so frustrate me. Lack of customer service and disrupting the lives of others so by just failing to take care of simple arrangements for something you'd long ago ordered and were paying quite dearly for. When I traveled on business, I found most airlines left something to be desired including US. Some of the European airlines I found had deteriorated more to US standards over the years. However, I found airlines in other countries had somehow trained the populace to accept anything they did. Central and South American airlines were the worst. One of the most unique situations I found was Colombian airlines (including airport personnel and even customs and immigration) treated US passengers much better than they did Colombians. ly, they had trained Colombians to put up with anything. I had a bad experience with Avianca, which was during that time voted worst service of any airline in the world, and I expressed my displeasure rather strongly over the service and the lies about what was going on (was tipped in advance to what was going to happen). From that point on, I was treated like royalty and afforded with services that shocked my traveling companions. Well, hopefully everything will be in order for the 21st and you'll soon be here. > > Hi friends, > I was all set to take the flight to Sanfransico > tomorrow but we got an intimation from the airlines > that they did not have enough o2 and it woould take > them a few days to procure the o2 cylinders so now our > departure has been postponed to thursday the 21st Aug > So now i am all ready and keyed up and no where to > go. feeling slighly deflated . > hope there are no more glitches !! > hope to meet some of the goup in CA > keep well all of you > Geeta >

Guest guest
Getta, What a disappointment. You know they make us make plans a month or so ahead and then it is only going to take them a few days to get tanks for you. But in the end you will get here for your vacation.I do hope you get to meet some in Ca. It would be wonderful. It is really so heart warming to meet members. Try to find a good book to keep you busy until Thursday.I'm hoping the time passes quickly foe you.Love and Prayers, Peggy IPF 2004, Florida"Worry looks around, Sorry looks back, Faith looks up." Guest guest
Bruce, Thanks for sharing ,It has indeed been frustrating with the airlines bungling , my husband and son have been having atough time making calls and even meeting them in oerson , inspite of all precautions and careful planning on our part, this has happened and we are still feeling we have not been sufficienlty harsh in reprimanding them for this bungle! It is all a case of 'the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing 'in the various depts .The medical dept has turned out to be the best and most helpful , there was a doctor who has been in touch with us and guiding us continusly. You wont believe it but the first set of papers including medical fit ness and doctors permission whiich we subitted for the issue have tickets has still not come to the Airline office in mumbai, we went with another set and we discovered that they provide o2 with no no extra charge while earlier they had asked for 500 $ again a wrong information .We were then told that we could not use the POC in the plane but we would be provided with 02 conservers in pulse mode at 6lit/min and my doctor had to give his approval that meant another visit to him. The last step was t to report 72 hrs before the flight with medical fitness cert. and intimation for o2 and we were told that they did not have adequate o2. Paddy lost his temper told them that it was upsetting all our plans and also causing untold inconvenience , we had to go to my doctor so many times, fotunately he is very coperative and does insist that 'I' should be there each time. I will be assured only when i am in the plane and see the o2 myself. By the way are you familiar with tanks in the pulse mode? can it supply only at 6lit/ min as they say. i do not need at that high rate especially when i am sitting. Paddy is asking them to upgrade to business class inlieu of all the incovenience caused. I think all this happens because patients like us are few and far between , but any international Airline is expected to have gudelines in place and thier staff well informed. Do wish me luck. Hope and pray all are stable and feel less pain in their individual conditions. Geeta P.S My phone ,internet connection etc are all set to be diconnected today and we simply dont have the energy to get them back for three days , so i may not post again unless i have other means to do so G -- In Breathe-Support , " Bruce Moreland " wrote: > > > Geeta > > Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. > > Oh the things that so frustrate me. Guest guest
Geeta, I am just so sorry for all this mess when you are so looking forward to a lovely vacation. The pulse regulators that we have go from 2L to 6L. adjustable, then you have to go to constant flow for higher leader. I use a pulse at 4L to 6L in my car now. It should work out fine for you. I would have extra batteries with you just in case. And drink plenty of water. Love and Prayers, Peggy IPF 2004, Florida"Worry looks around, Sorry looks back, Faith looks up."
