Guest guest
Chelle, I never paid much attention to my periods, honestly - I started when I was 13, almost 14, but was pretty light/irregular until I was 15 or 16. They were regular-ish throughout college, around once a month - senior year went on the patch in preparation for marriage after graduation, and switched to seasonale about a year later...and that's when the fun began. I only did the seasonale for 6 months because I spotted constantly and my chiropractor advised against it, so I switched to a regular monthly pill, although I've no idea which one. It was generic, I think it was the generic of ortho-tri-cyclen. Anyway, I stayed on that for a year or so and then went off it, and that was 18 months ago - have had the ridiculous irregularity ever since. I've noticed that, before and on the pill, my periods were normal - heavy at the beginning, lighter at the end, red in color (sorry for being graphic). But now they are light and long, almost like heavy spotting, last for 2 weeks, and are brown-colored. I'll be very interested to hear what the hormone clinic has to say about all this, although I'm sure they'll need to order a bunch of tests before they can tell me everything. I do horribly with having blood drawn, so hopefully they won't need testing done on too many separate days..I do ok with having a lot taken at once, it's just really hard to get the needle in, it's always torture.
