Guest guest
This time it happened at 9 pm right before my last T3 dose, in the store. Pulse went slow, and it was like my heart skipped beats, but really SKIPPED them instead of "extra beats". It beat very slowly, like with 2 second in between each beat. For 15 seconds. It scared the pants off of me.Why is this happening? Todays lab showed FT3 of 5.6 (3.5 - 6.5) - Do I need to check rT3 soon? I haven't checked in since February while I was on T3 only... This is week 8 with ERFA Thyroid, and I am on 1 grain and 1/4 grain, plus 20 mcg T3.Pulse is now 80, possibly because I am afraid. It has been around 70 in the past days. But also down to 60.What should I do? Should I worry, go to the ER, what?

Take your T3 dose It's a hypo symptom, happening just before your dose shows that. you are on the equivalent of 50 of T3 which is well under what you used to be on (were you up to 80???) pulse of 60 to 70 shows hypo as well unless you are very fit. FT3 needs to be top of range or over for you to clear hypo on the mix you are on if you have type 1 hypo. with type 2 hypo it may need to be well over range if you really have type 2 hypo. Next week: 1 & 1/2 Thyroid and 10 mcg T3. > How did you feel at 65? if you have type 2 hypo it's unlikely to be enough. You have said several times you have type 2 hypo, if that is the case you will need a replacement dose at the top of the normal range or above it, this means at least 5 grains a day or 125 of T3 a day. If you feel well on less then it's not type 2 hypo you are suffering from but some ofher issue such as Hypothallmus/pituitary issues causing the " thyroid regulatiion " to be miscalibrated, Generally treatment for that would still involve a full replacement dose of thyroid hormone and 2 grains does not represent that. Getting to the root of what is going on would help work out how to deal with it 2 grains is equivalent to 50 of T3 IF you are converting properly, if you are not converting then it's equivalent to less. How are you feeling for these dose reductions? On the subject of potassium and the balance between it and sodium http://www.naturalnews.com/024539_potassium_sodium_blood.html > study from New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center reported in Hypertension investigated the role of intracellular potassium and other ions in hypertension and diabetes. They concluded that potassium depletion is a common feature of essential hypertension and type 2 diabetes, treatment of hypertension at least partially restores potassium levels to normal, and fasting steady-state potassium levels are closely linked to calcium and magnesium homeostasis. That seems to explain why Val is needing a LOT of potassium to keep her levels up, it's a side effect of the diabetes. Have your many tests shown any indicators of diabetes at all?? From the same link one for you >Potassium regulates the beating of your heart. If you experience irregular heart beats, known as arrhythmias, your potassium levels may be low. Potassium also controls muscle functioning. It is the mineral that directs the transfer of nutrients through the cell membranes, a function that decreases with aging accounting for the circulatory damage, lethargy and weakness of old people.
