Guest guest
on 6- 23 -07 my FERRITIN was =48.6, RANGE 10.0 - 291.0 on 9 -20 -07 my FERRITIN was = 50.8, 4.6- 204.0 RANGE. Just recently on 1 -23 -08 FERRITIN serum was =31, 10.0 - 291 range I have done nothing different, my diet is the same, im still taking the small amount of iron that i was before,- Gentle Iron 25 mg its iron bisglycinate (Ferrochel). i have tried other types but they made me constipated . my hair loss i dont think has got worse from my ferritin being so much lower than before. but i still worry about my hair and my overall health all the time. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this, i think its strange. also how much of the gentle iron should i be taking daily to get my ferritin up? i got my blood tests back for my aldosterone, renin and the ACTH STIM tests ill post them soon. What can cause this odd thing to happen to my ferritin, it was pretty stable , then it got low very quickly. could it be a unaccurate blood test? thank you , sherie
Guest guest
You need to quadruple your dose of iron. In hypothyroidism ferritin drops due ot the lower body temp which cause the body to stop making red blood cells. Once ferritin drops you cannot utilize thyroid well at all so it is a self feeding probalem and the onyl way to break the train is mega dosing iron to bring the ferritin up. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Guest guest
Yes, the one I took was called gentle iron. I recently got a liquid iron supplement made for kids at the pharmacy so I'm going to try that. > > , > > Have you tried taking any of the gentle iron products? Guest guest
- I have very low ferritin as well. I just ordered a product called SSS tonic - it's a liquid - has 100 mg of iron per 3 Tbsp. Might be worth a try: http://www.energeticnutrition.com/vitalzym/ssstonic.html Lexie > > Hello everyone-- > > I have a few questions about ferritin myself.
