Guest guest
For the first time in over a week, Ken was in pain this afternoon, having acute pancreatitis is not fun. His first dose of Thymoglobulin has kicked in, fever, chills (whole body shaking chills), low respiration (he's on O2 via cannula & mask, but NOT the vent!) and crazy blood pressure fluctuations followed. It's hard on all of us to watch him hurting, but we keep reminding ourselves he is alive and we are so thankful for that. Doctors continue to move in and out of his room. The 'current' consensus is..... the Prograf caused the TTP. That is really rare, so everyone wants to see Ken and scrutinize his chart. By late afternoon, they gave Ken enough drugs to knock him out and he snored peacefully. I checked..... and the docs ok'd some of the 'good stuff' to help him sleep tonight too. That's it for today, we're going back to check on him, ICU is closed from 6-8:30pm. (Kim hopes he dreams about Sonic hamburgers tonight.) Barb P.S. I thought I saw someone ask about Actigal after transplant.....Ken is getting it.
