Guest guest
Just one paragraph from part 3, (GED is the electric shocking device): The redirect also allowed for a brief exploration of Andre's behavioral plan in JRC in general, which included the other behaviors for which he could be shocked. In addition to aggressive behaviors, the GED could be used in response to " major disruptive behaviors " such as yelling, screaming and swearing; " noncompliant behaviors " such as one referred to as " blatant `no' " ; and behaviors defined as inappropriate such as handclapping, talking out of turn, nagging and talking to himself. When asked whether some of these behaviors were common in Autistic people, Dr. Whaley answered yes – " in spades. The JRS has also been very vocal in opposition to proposed Federal restraint and seclusion laws, no wonder Steve > > > http://autisticadvocacy.org/2012/04/the-judge-rotenberg-center-on-trial-part-two\ / > http://autisticadvocacy.org/2012/04/the-judge-rotenberg-center-on-trial-part-3/ >

A lawyer for the school said there is no admission of guilt in the settlement and that shock treatment can be beneficial to some patients. http://www.science20.com/countering_tackling_woo/judge_rotenberg_tr... Guest guest
I naively wonder how is it possible in 2012 that we treat neurological disorders and mental illness like they are intentional and purposeful? Why do we interpret symptoms of these illness and willful behaviors and punish them? Why do we have to search high and low for a school or institution which does not regard things in this incredibly primitive and barbaric way?
