Guest guest
Colchicine has been recalled by the FDA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colchicine#_note-6 Colchicine poisoning has been compared to arsenic poisoning: symptoms start 2 to 5 hours after the toxic dose has been ingested and include burning in the mouth and throat, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and kidney failure. Death from respiratory failure can follow. There is no specific antidote for colchicine, although various treatments do exist. Improperly labeled colchicine was implicated in the March and April, 2007, deaths of three Pacific Northwest patients; each received intravenous colchicine that was ten times as potent as its labelling indicated.[4][5][6] The drug has since been recalled.[7] Get the Yahoo! toolbar and be alerted to new email wherever you're surfing. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks very much for your response to both of my questions. As usual, we can always count on your extensive knowledge. I will keep the group informed on the DHA Clinical Trial which should end around Jan.- or Feb. 08. > > Hi Marsha; > > I would not recommend taking colchicine for PSC; it does not seam to > have any favorable effects: > _______________ > >
