Guest guest
Please read the below alert and contact your legislator and Sen. Negron and Rep. Hudson as soon as possible. Action Alert – iBudget Implementation Getting to an Adult Day Training (ADT) program or other needed service is in jeopardy based on how the iBudget is being implemented. Background: APD is using a formula (algorithm) for implementing the iBudget which provides funding for ADT but provides no funds for transportation and seven other services including dental and respite care. To get any of these, you must find another source of funds or cut back on services for which you did receive funding. This can make the funding of ADT a hollow promise. The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) has already begun the implementation of the iBudget in the panhandle (Pensacola to east of Tallahassee). The rest of the state will be phased in to the iBudget beginning in April. Action Needed: If you don’t have a way to get your child to their ADT or other services, contact your Representative and Senator. Tell them (in your own words) what it would mean if your child had to give up their services because there is no way to get there. In addition, email or phone Sen. Negron and Rep Hudson and ask them to make sure that people have the transportation services necessary to get to their ADT programs and other services. Ask them to make sure that their efforts to insure that people have the funds for ADT and other services do not end up being a hollow promise. When communicating with these two men, be sure to thank them for their efforts to increase APD’s waiver budget.
