" We have also noted that saliva does not always

accurately detect Hashi's as well as blood tests do. "

Russ, is this also true for Canary Club's saliva testing done by DiagnosTech? I

am getting ready to order a test through them, and was considering the

DiagnosTech, since it is cheaper. Does either DiagnosTech or ZRT look at both

antibodies?

Thanks,

Olif

Olif, i cant really comment on this as it is straight from the website.

The website has its own forum, i will ask the question for you and see

what they say.

I am sure the saliva test would be ok.

I had a blood test here in the uk, as that is the test that they do

here. i cant get a saliva test done for thyroid in the uk, so really

didnt think anything on it.

From this example

http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/hairtest_09_saliva_tests_feb_07.pdf

it looks like they only tests for TPO

I had the DiagnosTech test. It checks for " microsomal antibodies " .

I don't know how that relates to anti-TPO or anti-TG antibodies

(those are the two I've had tested in the past). I actually did

come out positive on the microsomal Ab (and never on past testing),

but I heard that they get a lot of false negatives.
