Guest guest
> > Hi: > > For those of you who have been chelating for a long time, or who have > maybe finished, how many rounds have you done or you would consider > doing? I have chelated almost a year and a half non stop with low dose DMPS. If I divided that into 3 day rounds that would be... too many for me to figure out. I can only tolerate 5 mg ALA per dose. When I start ALA rounds I expect that I will be chelating for years and years and years. I am finishing round 86 with ALA + DMSA, every 3 hours for 3 > days and nights. I somehow got the idea that very sick people got well > in 100 rounds, but then someone said no. No? No? Could it be more? The way I see it the very sick people have to go very, very slow and will be chelating for a long time (in order to remove most of the mercury). What > do you guys think? > > Also, after removal of mercury, is there anything that may be damaged > for good? It is always possible that there is permanent damage. The body has an amazing ability to heal, but it takes time. I don't expect to get instant healing with chelation. I expect a lag period between chelating and healing. Brain healing and nerve healing are especially slow. One reason why it is important to support the adrenals during chelation (if the person has very poor adrenal function) is because cortisol is necessary for healing. Did you have a hair test and did it indicate adrenal and thyroid problems? J >Adrenals, brain, pituitary, liver? What if there are other > root causes besides mercury, how to look for them? Could it be more? I've done 60 rounds and I'm just starting to see progress that's separate from the improvement from taking the right supps. I expect to be at this for years more. My son is nearly done at abut 105 rounds, but I should probably do 150 with him. I think it's just really slow.... Nell
Guest guest
--Wow - are you doing these rounds every week? Are you using ala? At the very least, you've been waking up every 3 hours each week for just over a year and you are only seeing slight improvement? Sorry, but that's really discouraging. Guest guest
> > --Wow - are you doing these rounds every week? Are you using ala? Not every week. I did 16 rounds a few years ago, then quit without really deciding to because I didn't feel anything from it and I was focused on healing my kid. A year later I realized I was getting worse and started up again. I probably do 2 or 3 rounds a month, never more than 5 weekends in a row -- I get too tired. I've worked up to 100 mgs ALA and DMSA. My hair test meets the counting rules, I'm pretty toxic, but don't seem to be sensitive to stuff, including chelators. > > At the very least, you've been waking up every 3 hours each week > for just over a year and you are only seeing slight improvement? Maybe another way to look at it is that until my adrenal and thyroid problems were better addressed, I was unable to see the benefit of chelation. Once I got serious about combing though Andy's books and figuring out what supps to be on, I felt somewhat better, and the really bad brain fog lifted. But now, after 60 rounds and Cortef and more Armour, I'm having what feels to me like rather dramatic improvements mentally -- for example, after nearly flunking music theory in college (just did. not. get. it) I taught myself to read music and play the recorder easily. I no longer get stuck thinking about something and can't/don't want to do anything else, and at the same time my thinking is much clearer and more focused. But not obsessive. After never being able to find anything no matter how much I looked, my visual memory is coming back so that I can say, " Oh, that library book is on the table in the living room " and it will be, instead of wandering around the house over and over and not being able to remember where it was or even see it when I'm looking for it. The other really big change is that the social withdrawal, which was pretty bad for me, has melted away. I no longer dread having to chat with people, and actually look forward to doing social things. Not that long ago I was avoiding eye contact in public and wanted nothing more than to stay in my house or be traveling where I knew no one. > Sorry, but that's really discouraging. I hope the fuller story makes it less discouraging. It does suck that the whole thing -- balancing hormones, adjusting supps, chelating -- takes so long. But otoh, I tried doing nothing, and the spiral downwards was not pretty. I tell myself, just plod through the rounds, just plod through the rounds... That report was definitely more encouraging! I do believe in this protocal (gut instinct and slight improvements as a newbie using it). I know this is a long haul and believe it involves supportive therapies and a HEALTHY NUTRITIOUS DIET. Thanks for the update, Val
