Guest guest
Jeane I agree with you on hospice. Each form of health care has its proper place and role but when it comes to getting loving pallative care in your latter days, hospice has the experts and the most loving people. We are fortunate in that regard that most of us don't need nursing home care and hospice care is right for us. Primarily in PF patients the only call for nursing home may be very short stays after hospitilization depending on circumstances. Generally though home health care is able to handle that for us. I think while we are relatively healthy is a good time to interview home health care and hospice providers and even nursing homes for any period that might ever be required. > > > > I've been checking into hospice too...I'm at 90 or 91 on 5 lpm. > > Anyway, I think it's time for a conversation with hospice. > > > > I called my insurance (BC/BS) and asked them and they have fairly > > generous hospice coverage (240 days, no deductible) but home > hospice > > is another story...max of 40 visits per year. > > > > I was hoping to be able to stay in my own home, and this policy > doesn't > > make that very feasible.
