Guest guest
Hi all, Well, we made it home from Texas, LOL, in one weary body each. First, we get snow! In Texas! It was 29 degrees and we couldn't work because the house was without heat or electricity. Pneumonia wasn't on our list of wants at the time. We spent two days, including Sunday after church, for which my grandmother would have shrieked, working to get started on the clean out of the house. You would not believe the sight that met our eyes! This house is ancient, and worn down, and, in my opinion needed to be condemned or razed, before one of the owners of this group, Mama T, ever rented it in the first place. This regardless that in its prime it was an awesome place, I'm sure. The house was ransacked when we got there, we're sure by vandals. It was also overtaken by rats, which, I guarantee you, was not what we wanted to see when we got there. We did what we could, and pray that in another day the worry that we left behind there will be no more. As much was sold as was packed or thrown away. We stayed up, two days straight without sleep searching for several things in the mishmash. When we found those things, and then packed away as much as could be managed and also putting as much as we couldn't carry into storage, and then selling everything, we'd been awake at the end for 72 long, tiring hours. And then, after a very short five hours of rest we headed home. We had to stop in Alabama for a few hours and then came home at long last. Two days later than we wanted to be, missing two important days for both of us, including part of St. 's Day celebrations in Savannah and my son's and my birthdays. We got home about six hours before my birthday was officially over with. I was so tired, I couldn't even eat cake and ice cream for the belated celebration of my son's birthday, which was on Friday. Mine was yesterday. I am still physically beyond exhaustion, bruised and more. At this point I continue to sneeze out dust and dirt from that disaster zone. A very tired and weary, A. Guest guest
Oh what an escapade. So sorry to hear of such misery for you two. I think I could have dealt with everything except the rats. I HATE rodents. I am terrified of them. No, come to think of it, I would not deal well without sleep for 72 hours either. I just cannot imagine that. I don't know how you drove back home. And what a fluke that at that particular time it would snow in Texas and be 29 degrees. I guess you both need to stay in bed for about a week or so now. I cannot imagine the exhaustion and pain. Glad you are both safe, love and hugs, Debra V. wrote: Hi all, Well, we made it home from Texas, LOL, in one weary body each. First, we get snow! In Texas!
