>I was having some issues lately with the t3; it seemed not to be lasting long

at all, but then I may just have needed more. I get a bad slump in the early

afternoon before my 2nd dose and it's not adrenals as I tried taking extra HC

and it doesn't affect it.

The body seems to function well over a range of levels of T3.

If it drops below the lower threshold then you feel it

The upper threshold of hyper is quite a way above that

This means if you are taking enough you cycle up and down in that " OK

band " and don't feel the lack.

If you are taking too little you go up into the OK area and drop below

the lower threshold quickly with the subjective feeling that it's not

lasting long.

Taking a dose increase will let you last longer between doses by

cycling up and down in the OK area instead of dropping below the lower

band

What I'm saying in a very roundabout way is " try and increase " .

I try to spread it out 4x a day-I do this by splitting two 60mg capsules and using empty gel capsules from other supplements. My issue is low basals...I don't take T3 at bedtime, but that is my next attempt. It could be low cortisol as well, so I am going to have to tinker with it.

Out of curiosity, how are you dosing the SR t3? I was having some issues lately with the t3; it seemed not to be lasting long at all, but then I may just have needed more. You can try that, but If SRT3 is working it is still going to be gentler on adrenals if you have that problem. If I had to do the cynomel, I'd probably have to dose 6-8 times a day because of my adrenal issues, but I am not sure.

Oh, thank you so much for answering! I know a lot of people don't like the SR, so it is nice to hear from people who take it and it works. Another woman here takes it with good results, but she takes it AM and bedtime which totally doesn't work for me as I feel it wear off in the afternoon. Plus I can't imagime taking 1/2 at bedtime as it seems to me that 50% of the capsule releases immediately. In fact, it sounds like you have the same issue I do- that while it works, it doesn't seem to last very long. I was dosing 3 times a day and the AM dose just doesn't last until the 2nd one. I thought I might just need to increase the first dose, but as it seems like 1/2 of it releases immediately, this isn't necessarily something I wanted to do.I initially started taking some of my dose at bed simply because my adrenals didn't seem to be able to handle taking it all in the day. I was surprised that I was able to handle it this way and it

gave me energy in the AM. Hmmmm, so if you're taking it 4 times a day anyway, I go back to my original thought to myself: might as well take Cynomel! I wish it was simpler...I am wondering if AM dose should be higher, kind of like dosing HC, since we are bound to use up more T3 as we are starting our day and the body is trying to awake. Not sure if this holds for T3 or not. I have noticed today that my temps are lower 2 hours after taking 2nd dose of T3 and HC, but 1/2 hour after taking them they were higher. Nick's idea might be something to try-I also have some cynomel, but haven't used it.

To: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, May 14, 2010 2:24:40 PMSubject: Re: Temps better-pulse lower (real low)???

I'm confused what direction to go right now. I think the SR is likely more gentle as well on the adrenals as some releases every hour instead of once every 3 hours (if you dose Cynomel every 3 hours.) However, it's clear the first dose of SR doesn't last long enough for me as my temps drop significantly before the 2nd dose and it's not low cortisol because taking HC doesn't raise the temp, but the 2nd dose of SR DOES raise my temps back up.I guess I could try taking a larger AM dose as Nick suggestged. He said that temps shouldn't drop so drastically if there is a decent level of t3 in your system. He also suggested just taking a tiny hit of Cynomel in the early afternoon when I feel the SR is not doing it. I guess I will just have to try each method for a week each and see how it goes. I hate all this experimenting, though!Kathleen> > > > > > > > >> > > > >Since then my pulse when really relaxed is as low as 60 bpm, but my temps are better-even hitting 99F and that's after a couple of strenous days, something that would not have happened before-before after any sort of hard work or stress I would have seen lower temps for a couple of days.> > > > >> > > >
