Guest guest
Hi Nick (or whomever can relate), I increased my T3 dose four nights ago by adding a nighttime dose of 12.5 mcg of Cynomel. Yesterday was day 14 of being on T3 only, so I was prepared to increase as my temps are maintaining an almost constant 98.2 or 98.4. I have been feeling tired but not too bad and the first two nights of T3 at bedtime made me sleep like a rock, the best sleep I have had in years. However, the last two nights have been wakeful and restless and last night my heart palpitations returned and have continued in to today. With the addition of the bedtime dose my total for every day was 72.5 for the last week. Yesterday and today I suddenly feel poorly mostly because my pulse is running 96-112 bpm and occasionally I am getting palpitations. I am warm all the time and I do have a slight tremor in my fingers. Sounds hyper to me but my temps would not indicate hyper. My ferritin is good, my adrenals aren't great but not too bad (so far but how much can they take?). I am salt dosing 1 tsp in warm water sometimes as much as three times a day. Nick suggested trying Isocort but I am really hesitant until I can post my numbers on the adrenal site and that could be weeks as they will be deluged with questions and then I am out of town for a week.I am just so disappointed because at long last I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been on Synthroid, Armour, compounded NDT and most recently ERFA and it has never been right, my ratio is 12 and I am convinced the problem has always been a RT3 problem that no one bothered to look for. Has anyone experienced this same issue and if so what did you do? Already today I dropped one dose of T3 but I am unsure how much to decrease the dose or whether decreasing is the right thing at all. I have learned so much from all of you and thank you all for sharing. Kris

It might be you need a temporaty decrease, as the T4 levels sink they sometimes start converting leading to a blip on dosing It really is play it by how you feel plus pulse/temperature. Guest guest
Thanks Nick, that is exactly what I did and within a day I was better. Friday morning I had a really high pulse (112 bpm) and felt ill with spasmic colon and I was kind of dizzy even, so I decreased my daily total from 72.50 to 37.50 and by Saturday things were much better and I am still maintaining a warmer body temperature, so I think this is called " progress " even if at times it feels anything but.
