Saliva is a much better test because it measures cortisol levels 4x in a day, and it's not unusual for the level to be OK at certain points but way off in others. > but I am losing major weight and > not doing well at all... very poor response to any type of stress. You could try adrenal cortex extract, a lot of people like the Nutricology brand. I had much better luck with Isocort, which has some hydrocortisone in it. It's weaker than Cortef, but the feeling for me is very similar. Also lots of vit C and pantothenic acid, taken 3-4X/day, will support your adrenals. " I have only been taking my pantothenic acid (500 mg) once a day in the morning. Can I really take it 3-4 times a day, even if I am taking 3 B-50 complexes a day? Thanks, Olif

Guest guest
If you can't get a doctor to help, you could try Isocort, which is OTC. That's what I had to do last year. It's supposed to have 2.5mg of cortisol per pellet, so it is easy to start low and adjust your dosage as needed. You can order it from www.NaturalNutrionals.com (pretty sure I got the link right!) I also couldn't find a local doctor that knew anything about adrenals (and proper chelation, for that matter), so just last month I went to see in Seattle, and she seems to understand adrenals very well and prescribed HC for me. Don't know if that's an option for you, but just wanted to mention it. Otherwise, your quickest fix will probably be ordering Isocort. Jackie T adrenals Hello everyone, I have been pretty sick this winter and it has affected my chelation schedules. I need some help. I know I have adrenal issues but can't get that through to my doctor. My cortisol level came back normal, but we all know how much the levels vary from person to person. I was using licorice and it was helping, but I read that you can't take it continuous and it causes potassium wasting. I have to take cal/mag/potassium every day or I get heart palpitations. I am taking most of the recommended supplements, but I am losing major weight and not doing well at all... very poor response to any type of stress. Is anyone here on the desiccated adrenal? Does it help? I doubt I can get any Cortef and I desperately need to try something soon. Thanks,
