Hi Russ,

I was interested to read that you had an adrenal saliva test done

through a lab in the UK and that several people from the STTM site

have had similar results to you. I'm curious as to which lab you

used. I went through NPTech and I got the same results too with high

cortisol, DHEA and testosterone. Though my results do seem on the

whole to correspond with my experience it does make me question the

reliability of the lab if lots of people are getting the same

results! I'd be interested to hear if your test results are different

with Diagnostech, I know that lab is highly recommended.

Thanks

Anne

Hi Anne

Yes it was NP Tech.

Here were my results

Salivary Testosterone

8am 2050 175-735 pmol/L

12pm 1100 175-735 pmol/L

4pm 1040 175-735 pmol/L

12am 450 175-735 pmol/L

Salivary Cortisol

8am 28.5 6.0 to 33 nmol/L

12pm 14.5 4.0 to 28 nmol/L

4pm 13.0 4.0 to 11.8 nmol/L

12am 5.0 1.0 to 5.0 nmol/L

Salivary DHEA

8am 33.7 4.0 to 29.0 nmol/L

12pm 29.4 2.5 to 13 nmol/L

4pm 35.8 2.0 to 6.0 nmol/L

12am 17.1 1.0 to 4.0 nmol/L

From my hair results, (with high Sodium and Potassium and low

magnesium) it does suggest my adrenals are struggling.

I always fail the pupil test all the time. (To test this from the side

(not the front), shine a bright light like a flashlight or penlight

towards your pupils and hold it for about a minute. Carefully observe

the pupil. With healthy adrenals, your pupils will constrict, and will

stay small the entire time you shine the light from the side. In

adrenal fatigue, the pupil will get small, but it will soon enlarge

again or obviously flutter in it's attempt to stay constricted.)

I often fail (50%) when standing after lying down my blood pressure

drops) and my temps drop after excercise all leading to poor

functioning adrenals. I dont suffer at all to stress well at all, and

do have some OCD symptoms.

I will post up my adrenal results with Diagnostech in a couple of

weeks, when i get them.

But the suspicion is that NPTech results do often appear high in

Testosterone, and DHEA quite a lot from the STTM website.

Thanks Russ,

My saliva results were similar to yours and classed as normal but I

had the same signs as you like low blood pressure and crashing after

too much physical exertion and I'd had chronic fatigue for several

years anyway so I knew had a lot of adrenal insufficiency. I dont

think we should rely on tests but I think I will use a different lab

for any future tests I have as what you say does raise questions

about the credibility of NPTech. It will be interesting to see how

your results compare with Diagnostech.

Cheers,
