Hi Herb,

I haven't had my filings out yet, and so I haven't

started taking DMSA. But my doctor didn't know about

the Cutler protocol and so he had me taking ALA for 6

weeks. Before and after this period I had some

cognitive and neurological problems of my own, such as

tremors, forgetfulness, vertical nystagmus, and

others. But they got much, much worse while I was on

the ALA. My understanding is that the chelation is

expected to stir up some mercury (with the DMSA

removing it) and it sounds like this is happening in

your case. I also gather that side effects are

common, and finding a dose which keeps them tolerable

is the key. I agree they are terrifying - I woke up

one morning to find I could no longer computer

program, no matter how hard I tried, and it was six

weeks before I regained most of my abilities (i.e.,

once I quit the ALA). When I chelate I wouldn't be

surprised if my skills and symptoms come back for

awhile.

Good luck with your chelation - sounds like you are

moving some mercury!

I know Andy suggests those kinds of dosages in " Amalgam Illness " , but

I think it's turned out that most people can't dose that high without

having really uncomfortable side effects -- and that means, more or

less, a worsening of the symptoms you had before starting chelation.

So it sounds like that's what's going on with you.

Given how scary your symptoms feel, I'd probably dial it back to 25

mgs of each and see if that helps, and then titrate either way depending.

What supps are you taking? I had most of your symptoms as well,

including some really scary cognitive stuff like driving along and

suddenly having no idea where I was or where I was going -- and that

resolved once I combed through AI and got on the right supps.

>It's terrifying me and I'm not sure whether it's the

> expected worsening of symptoms discussed in the text,

That's what it sounds like to me. Or you aren't taking enough supps or

the ones you need.

Herb,

Nothing inappropriate about your post... but one problem I see with

your protocol.

Unless you weigh several hundrend pounds, I would say your dose of LA

is too high (and probably your DMSA, too). Even if you DO weigh 250+

lbs, it seems many of the 'sicker' people here (more toxic?) can't

handle doses close to that amount.

I forgot to add: welcome to the group. I don't post here often, but

I popped by today to catch up. I'm currently chelating with 20 mgs

LA every 3 hours (I weigh 120 lbs).

You have supplements in place?

I hope the more experienced members can help you. Must be

frightening to experience those symptoms (I'm just depressed and

irritated!).

Take care,

Pam
