Guest guest
Yes, they certainly go "darker" at the very least. As do the books. I kind of see it as following the increasing maturity of the characters (since they do age from book to book). In any case, I love them! A friend of mine had the theory that all humans can be divided into two groups, those who love Harry Potter, and those who love The Lord of the Rings, and that you are always either or, never both (and, I suppose, never neither...). Not sure how much water that theory will hold on a global scale so to speak... but it's certainly true about me. I love Harry Potter, but the The Lord of the Rings bores me to death (the movie, at, least, never read it). I didn't even finish watching the first movie, despite trying several times...love/Reb>> Nope but I've watched a few of the movies. The last few have been kind of violent I'm guessing, judging by the previews I've seen. Sonya has been in a robot/dinosaur phase for the last 6 months. Of course Rochelle (her other grandma) and I wish she'd like dolls so we could make outfits, etc. But like her mother, she doesn't ... hugs, Cait> Re: thanks!> > > > > Muggles indeed! Guest guest
No way I could get thru Tolkien. I had to keep going backwards to remember who a character was. So I'd probably meet Reb's requirement . Btw I'm so glad you went to the dr and had a good checkup! And extra happy that the moles were nothing. Guest guest
Just a Lord of the Rings anecdote:When our godson was about 5 years old, his mother got engaged to the man she is now married to. He was the one to break the news to us, and he did it with the words (ok, for this to make sense, you'd need to know that the Swedish title of the Lord of the Rings would be in English, "The Tale of the Ring"):"Mum is engaged now. It's a lot like 'The Tale of the Ring' "love/Reb > > > > Nope but I've watched a few of the movies. The last few have been kind of> violent I'm guessing, judging by the previews I've seen. Guest guest
A clarification, "he" (as in the one to break the news) refers to our godson, not to his stepdad. I see that I may have put it in a confusing way.love/Reb> > >> > > Nope but I've watched a few of the movies. Guest guest
I never was interested in Lord of the Rings - Harry touched my heart - I would have thrived at Hogwarts - Obviously, I would have been Hermione with my head in a book. Having a dragon would have been the bestest pet of all - they are extremely misunderstood. But, hey - I like Lansbury in "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" "Chitty, Chitty, Bang,Bang" just me God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there. Guest guest
I have more reason to worry then that, one time when we were going to Ibiza on our boat I fell asleep in the sun and got badly burned, I mean 3rd degree, my whole upper back was blistered, had to go to the Dr and got some sort of cream that my mom had to put on several times a day for most of the summer, I spent the summer in a tee-shirt, not just because it looked so bad but the sun hurt bigtime, I had scars for years from it ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- Re: Muggles / Harry Potter Movies No way I could get thru Tolkien.
