Guest guest
I have had 4 rounds of A/C, and Wednesday I am having modified radical (right breast) and prophylactic mastectomy (left) and my ovaries removed also (also prophylactic). Unfortunately, the ovary surgery has to be abdominal, not laparascopic, because of scar tissue I have from previous surgeries (Crohn's disease and hysterectomy - and I didn't have the ovaries removed then because I had no family history of breast cancer - duh!). Geez, a lot of surgery for a gal who's only 43. Now that it's getting closer, I'm getting anxious. I'm kind of thankful that I had this time to get used to the idea of losing so many " parts. " I am not doing any reconstruction at this time, at the recommendation of my surgeon and oncologist. My priority is " cancer first " and " aesthetics later. " Positive thoughts, prayers, and encouragement are appreciated. stage 3 invasive ER+PR+HR+
Guest guest
, Lots of prayers for your surgery and recovery. Please let us know how you are doing as soon as your are able. I had a mastectomy and also an abdominal hysterectomy. Not both at the same time. I had an easy time with both of them. Guest guest
God Bless! You will be having your surgery on All Saints Day. Now that is a good omen. They will be watching over you! Guest guest
- Best of luck hon! I'll be praying for you and keeping anything crossed that I can. Too bad they can't do the ovaries laproscopicly - would have been a quicker recovery time for you. Yes, that does seem like a lot for a young 43 year old - but time is on your side and I'll be hoping for the best for you. Good luck!
