Re: Zinc supplementation driving copper levels down?

I supplement copper based on repeated low RBC copper measurements.

I am also generally low in lots of minerals.

recommended that I take copper, and my previous doctor did as well.

My own sense in looking at information on deficiency symptoms of

copper is that I am deficient. I don't use much, just the amount

in a broad spectrum multi-mineral supplement (I can't remember the

number, it's a couple mg or so). I haven't noticed any problem or

any particular benefit. I haven't repeated the RBC (expensive).

Andy says in Hair Test Interpretation, that when mineral transport

is normal, the Zn/Cu ratio should be kept within range by adjusting

supplementation. However, mercury toxic people generally need and

tolerate high levels of zinc supplementation, as recommended in

Amalgam Illness.

I don't fit the general situation, could be partly due to GI problems

and partly due to possible other metal toxicity driving down copper.
