no I don't get alot of bladder infections at all , infact, I only pee about 5 times max a day, my gyne didn't suspect IC for me because of the infrequency and I never have urgency. Just seems that since I started this elavil I am having issues with retaining the urine. I thought I read something about it having the potential to do that, thats why it is used alot for IC patients. I don't want any more complications, I have enough, so I may talk to my doctor about this.

I have interstitial cystitis and have these problems.

Does Elavil retain urination, it seems when I pee now its not all coming out???? I have to wait 30 min and go again?? Has anyone experienced this, or possibly it could just be all my pfm issues

Hi Carolyn, I don't take elavil, I have before, but it's been along time ago. Actually elavil is highly prescribed for IC. Symtoms I have, are urgency and frequency(I go about 50x's a day), bladder burning and pelvic pain. Urethea...sp....stinging, burning, I use icepacks almost daily. I just got the interstim pacemaker for my IC, but it hasn't helped me. Do you get alot of bladder infections?

, what other symptoms do you have? I had no bladder issues prior ro taking elavil, now it seems it won't allow all my urine to come out
