Does the tanning bed really help with the itch? I'll have to tell chad about that.... he had his liver biopsy today. poor guy. he was in a lot of pain. they had to cut through his abdnominal muscle to get up to his liver. took 2 tries, but they got a little sample. I'll be back on here asking your opinion of his results when they get in. any suggestions on the pain? Thanks! Tammy (wife of Chad)cmp12305@... wrote: I went to the light treatment office at U of M. Insurance paid for it and I felt it was safer to be monitored by experts. I have read that some people here have gone to a tanning salon, but those have always made me nervous because I have had bad sunburns when I was young and have avoided the sun for many years. Also my skin is rather fair and my parents have both had mild skin cancer. The light exposure started with just 12 seconds and increased each time. I went 2 or 3 times a week and stood in a light booth with my eyes covered with those froggy eye protectors and a pillow case over my head to protect my face. After 5 weeks the itch was gone. I haven't heard anyone discuss the success rate of using sunlight for relief, as with Cindy, I live in Michigan and sun light is not always available or intense.
