Well, take every medical record you have with you and make notes of

anything you want to be sure not to overlook. For me the most difficult

part would be controlling myself and not letting the anger over being

subjected to such a process sabotage my effort. While I don't suggest

collapsing on the floor, I also warn you not to be the big strong cop

either. A problem with our disease is our looks can be deceptive. If

they see you having no problem coming to their office and sitting there

conversing and looking fine and sounding fine doing so, then they will

have a real difficult time picturing you as disabled. Now they are

judging not only your records and tests but what they are seeing with

their own eyes.

Tony, I would add to what Bruce said a brochure from the foundation. Hand each one in the meeting one and ask that they just look it over for a min. before the meeting begins. They show a picture quickly.Best of luck to you.. Love and Prayers, Peggy   IPF  2004,  Florida"Worry looks around, Sorry looks back,  Faith looks up." -well bruce i have tetified in court at least a hundred times so i am

pretty much used to it. it is hard to look like a big bad cop

dragging a bottle O2, so that is not a concern either. I have copies

of everthing and they do as well up and including the newest test

results

Well, I can look pretty good and healthy with oxygen on my arm and a

tube up my nose..... Ok, let me live in my fantasy world.

Seriously, don't underestimate how good you can look even on oxygen. You

may look weak and sick in your eyes but not necessarily to others. I get

told " you're looking good " all the time. Meanwhile only those around me

most can detect the bad days or when I'm tired or not feeling as well.

Remember she has no picture of the cop to compare to and thats what you

hold yourself up against.

Good luck.

Sort of like the four rules of testifying I was taught long ago:

1-Listen to the question carefully.

2-Pause. Make sure you understand it.

3-Answer directly and honestly.

4-(the most important one) Shut up.

Yes, best not to say something like " when I went on my cross country

motorcycle trip, I'd get tired after those 16 hour days " or " I am really

short of breath after five sets of tennis in this 100 degree weather. "

I'm sure Tony will do quite well, having testified many times.
