Eastern Daylight TimeSubj: great site for parents Being parents of a child with special needs is so frustrating yet so rewarding. We know this because we are parents of a special child. But what is more perplexing is navigating our child's growth and not always having the right path to follow and feel you've made the right choice. My husband and I recently started a website titled: www.apieceofthepuzzle.net. It is not your complete answer to all of the problems, but it can be a resource for your members. All our years of frustration has led us to creating this website to help assist parents who are in the same situation we were. We have the ability to chat and play games. We feature two articles a month, one is called Puzzle Pieces and is written with parents in mind and is very helpful in raising a child with special needs and disabilities. The other article we call the Learning Curve is geared more toward educators and administrators. This article is more toward helping the children academically. We have a parents forum where you can post your issues and we encourage others to become active in the parents forum and provide solutions that have helped you in the past. This website is free and the more members that join the more vast our resources become. To date, our educator articles are written by experts, such as, Doctors, Professors and people in their field of expertise. In order to fully understand the website you need to join. (It's Free) This website is dedicated to all special needs and disabilities. On another note, if someone in your organization would like to write an article for us to publish, we would welcome the chance to educate our members. We are also looking for people to provide articles if they wish to share their story so we can provide a different point of view. I would be especially interested in any articles from your staff. We also have a creative corner on our website and would accept pictures children draw, poems or stories by any of the children to publish. We also have the ability to hold "group chat" sessions. These chats can only be seen by those that are invited and can help increase the number of times a support group meets. Please take a look at our website and see if this is something you would pass on to the parents in your organization. We would welcome any comments or suggestions to make this website better serve the community.
