Yes Objective The EMS Instructor has the responsibility to ensure course objectives are met in all assigned EMS classes. Essential Duties (maximum of 12) Preparation and teaching of EMS classes as assigned by the EMS Program Director Participates with other EMS faculty in updating and improving EMS curricula. Provides appropriate paperwork to the assigned DSHS coordinator for any EMS courses they are teaching Works with EMS clinical coordinator to assure clinical progress of students in assigned EMS classes Completes all required departmental and college documentation in a timely manner Updates skills and knowledge as pertains to instructional duties on a regular basis Attends and participates in all required meetings Maintains appropriate office hours per Blinn College policy. Assists students with EMS class material in a one-on-one basis when required. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to lecture on numerous EMS topics specifially Advanced level topics Good organizational ability Ability to work with faculty and staff from multiple departments and disciplines effectively Associates degree or higher in EMS or related field One year EMS or related field experience Preferred Experience and Training MS Office experience Bachelors or Masters Degree in EMS or related field ACLS & PHTLS Instructor National Registry Paramedic Required License and Certifications Texas licensed or certified Paramedic Texas EMS Instructor Special Notes To Applicants This is a 12 month faculty appointment.
