Even in a healthy person the natural excretion of mercury would be very low compared to the high levels we are exposed to in our society. Our bodies were simply not designed to deal with mercury and other toxins in the large quantities that we are exposed to. Mercury interferes with the detoxification process so that the more toxic the person is the less able their bodies are to excrete it at all. Mercury does not naturally clear from the brain in significant amounts (very long half life and again it would be different in different people). > So I'm left to wonder if any mercury I got > from birth is really still a problem. I mean its 26 years later... The best way to tell is to remove amalgams and do trials of chelation. Side effects with chelation will tell you that it is a problem. If it is a problem you can chelate and prevent yourself from suffering in future from the long list of possible health problems that mercury causes.
