Guest guest
I just had a tough time for 4 weeks - not horrible or blood etc but I did do full intro for 5 days - I left out eggs too this time - kept yog in but wasn't sure I should?? what I think helped a lot was increasing the s boullardi to 2 pills 3 times a day - keep the soup in too even after intro -not sure what the suppositories are but I'd stay with intro 5 days and then stage 1 - I wouldn't be doing tomato prod etc yet -pull out vitamins while flaring and maybe stop mint tea- good for gas but I feel like it made me worse once? just my thoughts eileen 18 months scd > > So, it's been just over 2 weeks since I went into a major UC flare (my 9-mo mark on SCD) and I just can't seem to get ahead of it to control the urgent D, bleeding and mucus. I've been making 8-12 trips to the bathroom daily and I feel SO frustrated! I'm trying hard to not go to the doctor because I know he'll just put me on more meds, which I'd like to avoid if possible! So, I'm asking for your input/advice. > > I went back to the intro diet for a couple of days after the 1st sign of a flare. Here's what I've been eating for the past 2 weeks: > > chicken broth, well cooked carrots, boiled chicken, very ripe bananas, pure apple cider diluted with water (with SCD Pro Child vitamins), grilled hamburger w/ mustard, green beans, zucchini and squash baked and stewed in tomato sauce, butternut squash, roasted tomatoes (no seeds), pear/apple sauce, mint tea w/ honey. > > I've also had some homemade yogurt, but have stopped that because I'm not sure if I'm lactose intolerant. (oh how i miss cheese!). I'm also avoiding eggs and spinach as they seem to not agree with me. > > Yesterday, I did take an S. Boulardi pill to see if that might help. > > I've also been doing some of the Mesalimine enemas at night. > > Nothing seems to help. Any advice/suggestions? > > Thank you for your help and support! > Vicki > UC dx 2/08 > SCD 11/08 >
Guest guest
I've also had some homemade yogurt, but have stopped that because I'm not sure if I'm lactose intolerant. (oh how i miss cheese!)Do you mean casein intolerant? There shouldn't be any lactose in any of the SCD legal foods, but there is casein. Guest guest
Anyway, it's best to be off dairy if you are having problem with M and give your insides some time to heal.
