Guest guest
I saw a report on CBS that said that honey on a cut works as well as Neosporin to kill microbes. Does it also kill the bacteria in the gut? Has Elaine said anything about honey working in this way? If so, I'll eat more honey!! Guest guest
it reduces inflammation and yes it has helped sores on my fingers that I had when I 1st got sick, better than any medicine - BUT if yeast is an issue don't go nuts - I suspect yeast is involved in most gI issues - eileen 18 months scd > > I saw a report on CBS that said that honey on a cut works as well as Neosporin to kill microbes. Guest guest
I've always tried to keep the honey down because I was thinking it was bad for the gut but now I'm not so sure. I don't know if I have yeast issues, I know I have bacteria issues though. Guest guest
Make sure the honey is raw. Pasteurization kills all the good enzymes. Guest guest
Yes honey is anti-bacterial, especially Manuka honey. Honey has been shown to get rid of H. Pylori bacteria in the stomach. I think that's about as far as it would get though along the digestive tract while still being effective. Honey is only anti-bacterial when it is full strength. Once it gets diluted by stomach acid and fluids it would not be effective. So I think in terms of getting rid of bad bacteria in the intestines, it would be better to use probiotics.
