Guest guest
Sher You must have registered on some site or signed up somewhere for something that put your email address out there in the public. Sometimes it can be something as simple as free smileys or anything free. Remember all, nothing in the world is free. So there is always some gimmick and use of your email address is a big one. Now, I don't know if your cable email has spam settings or memory. If so, as you set these as spam, they will start going automatically into your spam bucket. Are the addresses similar or all very unique? Depends on what elements of Norton Security you have and how you set them if it's enough. I did check your cable company to see if they had any spam controls you could use and unfortunately not, so it will have to be done at your outlook level. > > All of a sudden my email is being flooded with spam! The only way I know to stop it is to block them, one by one, and there are over 100 the last two days. > Can anyone tell me how to stop this? > I have Norton Internet Security, is that enough? > Thanks. > MamaSher, age 70. Guest guest
Bruce ... thanks so much for your reply! Yes, like a HUGE DUMMY I did click on a site looking for "Freelance Writers". I just couldn't resist that one single moment when I clicked (as you know, my being a freelance writer). The next instant I said, "Oh, crap" (or something close) what did I do! But. What can I do now??? Can you tell me? Again this morning, I went through over 100 (!) blocking, one by one by one by one. Guess that's the price I pay for a moment's temptation. Gee, I think I've taught my girls something about not doing that! lol. MamaSher, age 70. IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: Can you help? Guest guest
Too late now but I use McAfee and very seldom get any and when I do it goes into a junk folder. Are you using outlook or outlook express by chance?. Outlook will also help you to block spam.
