Guest guest
Hi all,Well, hockey is finally winding down--yay! My 11 year old son, though, is going to play Spring hockey, but that is 'in house' and not travel. Hopefully it will be confined to one practice and one game a week--which I can do.My testing at the educational/vocational place is continuing. I think I have about 6 or 7 days left of it, then they evaluate everything and have a meeting to discuss what job or educational opportunities there are for me out there. Chances are that they are going to pay for me to have a computer class that will update my knowledge and skills on various programs, like Excel for one. I'm excited thinking about that--I want to learn more. MS is fairly stable. I do have balance issues though. I'll discuss with my neuro next week that I've fallen about 6 times in the last few months. Fortunately, no broken bones. My cognitive/memory stuff is horrific. Short term memory, and somewhat, long-term also. Of course the stuff I suffer with like fatigue and depression, are invisible, so folks think everything's just dandy!Marriage stuff is status quo. We are seeing the marriage counselor, and things seem to be going along pretty well with that. I think we are communicating more, which is one area that needs to be improved upon.Kids (, almost 14, and , 11) are REALLY bugging me to get a puppy. They want a small breed, unlike Missy, who is a beagle/collie/shep mix and is about 70 or so pounds. They are thinking of a cock-a-poo or a cav-a-poo, both mixed, but I think purebred just the same. Anyway, I had called a place about a Maltese, and they wanted $1100!!! I told the kids, we can get a puppy, but not at that price! We've looked at the ASPCA, and they just don't have puppies, just very large, bark-y type dogs. I told them after school today, we'll go down county to see the place that has the Maltese, and see if they have any mutts or less expensive dogs. I think Missy will be thrilled to have a buddy to play with! So, depending on what we find, and cost, we may be coming home with a puppy! I'm kinda excited about it. Hubby is NOT. He believes that once the novelty of walking it and feeding it pass, that the burden will be on the 2 of us to take care of those chores. I don't know for certain that will happen. I guess it's always a possibility.I hope this isn't too long, and I haven't bored any of you!love and blessings to all,Kate
