" Thanks, what kind of effect did it have on you? Were your lithium

levels low also? "

I am not sure I noticed anything. I haven't taken it in a while. Occasionally I

will take one if my mood is really low.

My lithium was below detection limits in my hair.

Russ:

" Lithium blocks the thyroid hormone release and it's manufacture. "

I saw this a couple months ago and stopped the lithium. From what I was finding,

though, this only appeared to be in pharmaceutical doses, like 400 mg. I tried

finding something for very low doses, like I was taking, but I couldn't. I have

thought about adding it again, but I am taking so much already.

Are you sure low doses, like 20 mg and less, cause problems for the thyroid? If

so, where did you find the info?

Thanks,

Olif

has written favorably about low-dose lithium, which seems to act

completely differently from pharmaceutical doses. You can find his lithium

articles here:

Its from a Thyroid book from Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield entitled, The

Great Thyrois Scandal and How to Survive it.

He recommend to avoid Lithium (but doesnt say about dosage strengh.

Interesting he says the big element (compound) to avoid is anything

that contains Floride as it has a damaging effect on thyroid

manufacturer and its uptake into the cells. He says unfortunately that

include tea as these grow in florine rich soils, howver he doesnt says

stop drinking it, but just remeber the effects of it when your on your

10th cup.
