Progesterone is calming, for one thing. Ask how much to apply, what time of day, how many days per month. > Re-start cortef Cortef will help to cut through the fatigue, brain fog. Ask what total dose per day she would like you to try, how many doses per day and how much at what time intervals. (For example x mg on waking, y mg at noon, z mg at 4 pm, or whatever combination she feels would be best). > Artichoke up to 3x/day along with vit c and b complex I think artichoke is to help the liver. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, helps with lots of things. Vit C and B will help adrenals, liver, and others. > Kelp- start with one per day - work up to three Ask her... perhaps a source of iodine and possibly other things. > Tyrosine -750mg one in the a.m. Actually the supp sent is only 500mg Olif posted about tyrosine. > Multivit with iron - I am low on ferritin The multi will help if there are certain nutrients that you are not getting (most of us are deficient in lots). The iron should help to bring up your ferritin. Low ferritin can contribute to fatigue. may have preferences for the type of iron that is readily absorbed. > I am also supposed to take fish oil and probiotics. Fish oil provides omega 3 oils - we are all severely deficient in these and they are needed for every cell membrane in the body - very important. The probiotics will help to supply beneficial organisms to maintain normal gut flora - important because mercury poisoned people tend to have problems with gut dysbiosis. > Vitamin D - 1000 mg a day > For strong bones and teeth, and other things. It may help to get some pill minder containers. (I bought some at the dollar store). I have some with large compartments for supplements and some with small compartments for medications. For the medications I use tape to write on what time of day I am to take them. Good luck J > Melinda >

If you've been on cortef before, I imagine this would be the easiest one to get started since you are familiar with it. Progesterone will also help to reduce stress - it can be calming, antidepressant, improve sleep. Artichoke is probably for liver/bile support. > I am not new to biomed. I > hate to ask so many questions but I am in a bad spot right now and it > could take me awhie to understand all of this. Sounds like the stress and anxiety is the biggest thing you want to handle right now, which would mean treating hormone levels is step one. For more info, online research may be helpful, or you can join the NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALs group. > I know I need to reach out for support from friends and family so I > don't need that lecture. Sounds like you've got to a point where it's time to address your needs. You'll help your kids more effectively when you are feeling better yourself. > What I am taking > Left over Solary vitamin C that my husband feels is junk and my kids > are using Kirkman brand. > Left over Mannatech AO - just using it up before it expires > 20mg of cortef in a.m. with food- last two days I have missed this. This one is important to take every day. If you were taking it for some time before the last two days, dropping it could make you feel pretty bad. > I have taken the Tyrosine a couple of times when I remember to take > it upon waking. Why do you need to take this immediately after > waking? What does it do? What about side effects? Tyrosine can support thyroid function and can improve attention and alertness. Anything can have side effects in a sensitive person - but it probably won't. Do you think it bothers you? Taking right after waking is probably to make sure you take on an empty stomach. It will be better absorbed that way. > Vitamin D - 1000 mg a day. I am faithful with this. > I have not added in the Kelp yet. What is it supposed to do anyway? Will support your thyroid (source of iodine). > This week I started the Progesterone Cream. I having been getting > really hot at night. Are you getting hot after starting it or before? After taking this for four days I stopped. > Don't understand what it does either. It will help with bile flow. If it bothers you, maybe can suggest something milder - or ask her if you can split the capsules and just take half to start. > B Complex from Jarrow - I have been taking this twice daily but my > urine is really bright colored. This makes me think I might just be > dumping money down the toilet. It's because you pee it out quickly that you need to take it more often. (Supposedly it's the riboflavin that colors the urine.) B vitamins can be pretty helpful with your energy level, anxiety, and lots of other stuff, but you need to take frequently to keep the benefits going. B vitamins are pretty cheap and it's worth it to make sure you have enough of them in your system. If you buy a B100 tablet, it will be cheaper and you can cut it in half. > I am not taking the probiotics or multi-vitamin with iron. > Any good recommendations on multi brands? > I know I won't get better unless I take the stuff. They will help you to feel calmer and think more clearly about all of this. > Ok, deep breath! Life is going to get better and I thank you for your > suggestions/comments. > Melinda Good luck! Guest guest
Thanks, Olif, J & . You guys are a breath of fresh air. > > Tyrosine can support thyroid function and can improve attention and > alertness. Anything can have side effects in a sensitive person - > but it probably won't. Do you think it bothers you? > It has not seemed to bother me but I have just started taking it. The benefits of this one sounds good. Is it ok to add in the Tyrosine and Kelp at the same time? I am anxious to get things started. > > This week I started the Progesterone Cream. Thanks for the B100 tablet tip. A great big thanks to everyone! Your posts were very understanding and hopeful.. Just what I needed. I am committed to this. I'm going to try to be patient and give it some time. I will keep you posted. Melinda

If you do add two things at once, and there is a side effect, you won't know which one is causing it. I wouldn't think these are likely to cause a problem, but everyone is different. > > > This week I started the Progesterone Cream. You may want to reduce the dose and see if the hot flashes go away. It's possible it's just your hormone balance shifting and adjusting - not sure. I would mention it to . Part of the point of progesterone cream is to improve your sleep quality - if you are waking up with hot flashes that is defeating the purpose. -- > > Are you getting hot after starting it or before? Guest guest
Hi Melinda, I'm willing to bet the Cortef will help with your anxiety and short fuse, as will continued rounds of chelation. You might want to read some of Lee's books on premenopause and menopause because he discusses reproductive hormones in detail, esp. supplementing with progesterone cream. Apparently, a common mistake is to apply too much. Also, if you end up supplementing with Iodoral down the line, be warned that I've read reports where progesterone levels rise with Iodoral supplementation. I sympathize with you on the expenses and trying to decide what is most important to spend money on. When you're having trouble with foggy thinking, memory, and agitation, it makes decision-making and weighing things out even more challenging. One thing that has helped me a lot is to write things down so I " get them out of my head " and stop thinking & thinking about them all the time. Sometimes looking down at the paper (or computer screen), the priorities leap out at me in a way they don't when swirling around in my head. I'm a chelating adult and chelating 2 NT kids too. We're 56 rounds in, and no regrets. Baby steps, and improving. Hang in there, in Illinois
