Guest guest
Incase you don't have access to the PECS system, someone posted this website last week. Check it out. I was really impressed and excited because this is what I need to do for my guys. They are both verbal, but the visual cues are really helping all of us alot. I'm amazed. Joyce _______________________________________________________ I just wanted to let everyone know about a FANTASTIC website I was told about at the CARD center (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities). The web address isv www.do2learn.com . It is filled with terrific educational and organizational ideas and suggestions. It also has 300 picture cards that can be printed in 1 inch, 2 inch or full page sizes. It also has printable charts, calendars etc.. Great work station and activity folder ideas. Best of all - it is free. Be sure to explore from all angles, clicking on highlighted words from several different pages. I found that some areas weren't accessable from certain pages and that more info was available on some pages than others. I can't rave enough! Guest guest
Wonderful news! In addition to the other suggestions, how about some speech therapy? The school should provide it for him. It can be combined with the PECS pictures you are using to have uniformity between home & the therapist. > My son who 6 weeks ago was basically nonverbal is now talking. that > is the good news, The hard part is understanding him, He knows what > he is saying and whaat he wants, I am having great difficulty > understanding him and the poor guy is getting frustrated. Guest guest
I had to keep going over with my son how to say things and to say them properly and I 'm still doing it. It's hard but at least now something clicks in there and I don't have to say it 20 times. Just keep letting him know how to say it and hopefully he'll catch on too.
