Guest guest
Hi You will need to get on just T3 as the T4 you are taking will be making RT3 First things first would be to have a full iron panel tested inc. ferritin and doing an adrenal saliva test. And if you post the results here someone can help you interpret them. Good luck Josie Hello. Can anyone tell me what to do about a T3 RT3 ratio around 13 ? I am currently on combination treatment T3 and T4.... Get a free e-mail account with Hotmail. Sign-up now.

Guest guest
Thank you so much for replying Maybe I was a bit unclear in my post....I have calculated my ratio from FT3 and reverse T3. I have been under treatment for 6 months due to symptoms of hypothyroidism altough my bloodtests were in the normal range. Allready before treatment my FT3/RT3 ratio was only 9,36. I was given combo treatment with Thyroxine and Liothyronine. During theese six months I have had B12 injection supplements and vitamine D and B Complex. My ferritin was at the start of treatment in the low range, and I have not taken any iron supplements so the ferritine remains in the same range I suppose. My doc gave me the treatment due to increased levels of homocystein, and cholesterol, however not in an alarming high range and heavy symptoms of Hypothyroidism, including, fatigue, weight gain that did not response well to diets, strange periods, heavy muscular pain, etc. The first three months I did not experience any changes in symptoms, but the last three, after adjusting the dose a little, I have managed to loos 13 kilos on strict diet, noe sugar what so ever and minimal carbs, and have felt more awake and energized with very little muscular pain. However I have had problems with irregular and high pulse, as well as very little tolerance to activity due to strange heartbeat....hard and throbbing heartrythm. my levels of TSH had gone totally down during treatment, my FT4 remains the same as before treatment and my FT3 has increased a little, from low upper range to upper range. So I have gone from FT3/RT3 range 9.36 to 13 in six months on the combo treatment. The last time I went to se my doc, he suggested to remove T4 from my treatment, and I am now on my third week of cutting it down. He did not really give me any good explanation other than the pulse and the heartbeat problems. I now feel horrible, heavy muscular pains and headaches, all the symptoms I got rid of is now back.... Does my FT3/ RT3 ratio say anything to where as the treatment I have been getting is not good for me and will I feel better cutting T4 from the treatment? Guest guest
You can take T3 iwht anything BUT iorn. It is best to take T3 in four doses, and iron in two so it is kinda tough to fit them all in. The T3 dose oyu start wiht depends on your current meds. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
Total T3 2,4 nmol/l RT3 0,45 nmol/l 240/45= 5.33 and needs to be at least 10 -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
Thanx val My endo says I dont have a RT3 problem, and he is a very aknowledged endo when it comes to treating hypothyroid persons with combination treatment no other endos support. His reasons for cutting my T4 meds is simply because of my symtoms that he thinks might be caused by Levaxine. He wants to see how my body tolerates T3 alone. This is kind of contraversal treatment in my country. Upon direct questions about me having a reverse T3 problem he says totally not....now what.....maybe it really doesnt matter what he thinks....maybe the main thing for me is just to be happy he gives me the T3 treatment regardless of his reasons for doing it? Guest guest
LOL, why question the treatment if it gives me what i need , I am however experiensing bad headaches still, and he told me to go a bit slower with the cutting of my T4, I am wondering if increasing my vit D and Bs can cause the headaches, because I have had them since the day I startet taking more vitamins....about a week now...and my urine is really YELLOW (sorry for nasty details)
Guest guest
, I have found when taking several new things at once and having a reaction, its best to eliminate them one at a time, for a couple of days, to see which is causing the problem, process of elimination. I've learned from experience that optimally, its best to start one new item at a time and maintain that for a week before adding another. Your body needs time to adjust and it's easier to catch problems early. Best Wishes,
