Guest guest
I also use TJ Almond Butter. Does anyone know of a source for BLANCHED almond butter? Subject: Re: ideas for brands of legal items like condimentsTo: BTVC-SCD Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 10:18 AM I buy Trader Joe's almond butter. The almonds aren't blanched though, so it's not for everyone. I personally have no problem with it.I buy Safeway's brand of yellow mustard. All the listed ingredients are legal, so it's just the 2% rule in question.Spectrum Organic Mayonnaise and Trader Joe's Organic Mayonnaise both look pretty legal, but YMMV. It's one of those things that you have to decide whether it's worth the risk of hidden illegals to have convenience. 's Tomato Juice is legal.Muir Glenn canned tomatoes work for some people. I read on here a while back that someone contacted them and found them to be legal.Someone on pecanbread contacted Penzy's and found their garlic and onion powders are legal.Certain flavors of Sretch Island Fruit Leather are legal (off hand, I'm not sure what all of them are). I know grape is legal, and can be found at Walmart. Digestive Wellness carries them, so I feel confident in there legality. That's everything I can think of right now :-).HollyCrohn'sSCD 12/01/08>> Like legal mustard, legal nut butters, legal mayonnaise, legal tomato juice, and so on? I end up ordering a lot of items which is fine, but it would be nice to know what I can use here in case I run out of something or need it right away for a recipe.> I usually avoid many store bought things because of all the additives. We have a local health food store with a few items, but I am nervous about the 2% rule and don't want to contact all the manufacturers, and I don't want to buy something and find I can't use it which I have done before, so if y'all would post some of your favorites, I would appreciate it.> > Thanks!> > PJ>
Guest guest
cashews are definitely legal and larabars all pretty much have cashews in them. they are legal but very advanced - only some of them - if there are things that are illegal in the ingredients list they are illegal - obviously. Mara > wait...cashews are not legal?? also heads up on the Larabar cashew > date bars - dates are laxative (which I found out the hard way) > > >> >> I have a few " foods " that I think are legal that I use a lot. >> Trader Joes makes a mayonaise called " Real Mayonaise " . Many years >> before I did SCD I thought it tasted just like my mom's homemade >> mayonaise. No sugar no starch etc. After failing with homemade >> mayonaise I opted to use it. >> " Larabars " are these little " fruit and nut bars made with dates and >> nuts and fruit. I always have one or two in my purse. Again not >> sugar or starch. I'm not sure the Cashew one is legal. Cashews >> aren't nuts are they- probably not legal. >> > > > > > ------------------------------------ > >

Guest guest
I recently ordered Hazelnut Butter from www. hazelnuthill.com. I emailed w/ the owner - it's a small family runned business. The product - hazelnut butter is good. The only ingredients are the nuts and salt. They are not specifically blanched, but the process they use nearly removes all of the skin. The chunkier pieces of the nuts settle to the top and the underlying butter is smoother. Subject: Re: ideas for brands of legal items like condimentsTo: BTVC-SCD Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 11:27 AM I have searched high and low for one, but haven't found it.I too, buy the unblanched whole foods or TJ's almond butter but have noticed that it always makes me sick. My kids seem to be fine with it though.-> >> > Like legal mustard, legal nut butters, legal mayonnaise, legal tomato juice, and so on?
