New and at a loss - does anything work?

Hi all,

I'm 48 years old, dealing with late stage lyme disease (untreated and

misdiagnosed for almost 20 years), interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia

and other chronic infections. I'm working on all these things but it's

been a really slow and difficult process.

I've been unable to have intercourse for many years. It' feels like

I'm being stabbed, and it's excrutiating. It's inside the vagina from

maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 inch in and then all the way through. It's gotten

much worse with time. Is there anything I can do for this pain? Are

there any really effective treatments?

This is so personal but I could use some help here. My docs have never

suggested anything more than estrogen cream, which I feel would

increase cancer risk, so I declined. I do use progesterone cream.

Actually I'm in so much pain throughout my body that I've just put this

aside for all these years. I've had other priorities and my husband

has been understanding, but I know it's difficult for him. I'd like to

be able to regain the ability.
