Guest guest
Just an FYI, this camp is noisy! From the second you pull up in the car pool lane at morning drop off there is music blasting in the sound system and kids running around all over the place. I have not had any personal experience putting my child in the special needs camp but i used to attend Camp Sol Taplin for MANY years as a camper myself. While the special needs programming is getting a little better, it is definitely not where it should be. I am a huge advocate of inclusion for our campers and children but it needs to be done correctly. I have heard that the shadows are not well trained at all and they will not help your child integrate in with the typical kids. If your child wants to do nothing all day, thats what they will do. The shadows truthfully serve as a babysitter. Just wanted to give you the heads up about the noise in case your child gets stimulated or overwhelmed easily as it can be very chaotic. > > > > The -Ann JCC have an inclusion special needs camp (Camp > Koach) > > Eligible campers are mainstreamed in a Variety Camps, participating in > all of the same activities while being buddied with a shadow. > > Does anyone heard or had any experience in any of their camps. > > Thanks in advance !! > > Renata > > Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T > > > > > > > M. , MS, BCBA > megan@... > >
