Guest guest
Thanks , Nell, Jan, Val, Just to confuse everyone I'll reply to everyone's comments in the same mail. >Do you lean towards getting bacterial infections, viral infections, >or >both? I get every virus that the family brings home. Once a year I will get a secondary bacterial respiratory infection. I get frequent external (bacterial) ear infections. The recent colon infection (bacterial) is the one that scared me because it was going systemic and taking me down fast. I'm very fortunate that my GP gave me antibiotics before I ended up in the hospital. I take cod liver oil. Will have to consider increasing it or checking out the Weston Price Green Pastures. I recently added extra vitamin A. In their wisdom, Canada customs won't allow beyond-a-century elderberry into Canada. I found an elderberry syrup to add to my stocks. I am able to easily get Neutrophil plus. Perhaps that is the one that will help me (it is one that Andy mentions frequently) I bought some Cordyceps and am continuing to add to my arsenal. I have had C reactive protein and fibrinogen tests in the past. Those are probably the ones I am looking for. >>Have you checked for H. pylori as a cause for your ulcerative >>colitis? I had a neg H pylori test a couple of years ago. I'm quite sure that I was having bacterial dysbiosis in the last year. The SCD seems to have cleared the symptoms. >>Inflammation where? Lately I feel like the inflammation is everywhere - brain, arms, shoulders, legs, colon. I have had to stop chelation for several months. Usually when I chelate I don't ache all over like I do now. >>Have you begun probiotics, and taken care of gut yeast? Yes. The SCD yogurt is wonderful for that. Yeast doesn't seem to be a big problem for me. With starting up chelation again I'm trying to decide if I should go for every 8 h (less chance that I miss a dose) or every 6 h like I was doing before (I'm too tired to do every 6 h now). I'll just have to try it (8h) and see what happens. Thanks again girls. I appreciate talking things over with you. J > > > > ===>Seconding Nell's advice about cod liver oil and immunity improvements. Our little one's immune system was in overdrive without so much as a cold for 1.5 years, not normal. Within a month of implementing clo she started having a more normal immune response including normal colds. > > Also wanted to make a pitch for Green Pastures clo with Butter Oil as we got further improvements when we started using this CLO as compared to Nordic Naturals. This is the clo recommended by the Weston Price crowd and I have to say it has been helpful. > > As far as testing I've seen Andy suggest that viral testing is less than ideal but a basic check of T and B cells would probably tell you where you are although I'm thinking Andy would be best to answer this. > > I've read that C and D are good for balancing the immune system and if you search http://onibasu.com and plug in " andrewhallcutler and immune modulators " you will find a list of supplements that Andy mentioned to help the balance including; cordyceps, beta glucans and others. I also posted here that some AIDS people have reduce their viral load with elderberry extract and we have found that helpful just using a powdered extract from www.beyond-a-century.com > > At www.lef.com you can search for their protocols on immune system and HIV to find lots of ideas for strengthening the immune system. I also heartily recommend their multivitamin as a great overall health product. > > C reactive protein is good to measure and Andy recommended we also test fibrinogen levels to assess inflammation issues. > > Just some ideas, > > > > > > > > >
