My son spent two years at the school, its academic demand is very high and the autism program does not have any behavior program. Not recommended at all... To: sList Sent: Tuesday, October 9, 2012 10:25 AM Subject: Charter school FSU

Has anyone had any experience with charter Fsu for their child with autism?

My son with PDD-NOS lasted only a semester there in kinder.....your child cannot have

any ASD associated behavior to survive in their "autism" program....do not recommend either....

My youngest son, who has a PDD-NOS diagnosis attends this school.

This is his second year. The curriculum is demanding, but their ESE staff is

fantastic. I am in constant communication with his regular ed teacher, the

therapists and the ESE teacher. So far our experiences has been positive, and

he's getting the support he needs to be sucessful in the regular classroom.

That said... their autism program is, well, autism 'lite'. Not that they say it,

but it is clearly geared towards kids that are high functioning with minimal or

no disruptive behaviors.

I'm well aware that my oldest son, who has more complex needs, would not be well

served in this school, which is why I kept him in his home school.
