Guest guest
PJ, You reminded me about my pre-SCD days where I was so afraid to eat because everything bothered me and sent my gut into spasms of pain and horrible D. My 2 so-called specialists could not tell me what I could eat – they both said “eat what doesn’t bother you” and 1 said to avoid dairy. That was their recommendations. I was literally afraid to eat. Thankfully my husband googled diet + Crohn’s and found the SCD for me before I wasted away. What a nightmare before the SCD. Hang in there, you’ll get better. (grin) Carol From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of smdsmom2008 Thanks- I think part of the fear is the big unknown, as a beginner. and not wanting to feel the way I did before SCD. I know Elaine wrote these things in the book as a message to persevere with the diet and not give up. It's good to know that others have done well through this period. To me, it was certain foods that triggered my symptoms in the first place, and I had managed by restricting what I ate even before I started SCD. What SCD gave me was a plan to eat without fear- a concept that means a lot to me. I have felt so much better on SCD, so that in itself is motivation to stick with it.
