Guest guest
> > Did you already leave for your trip? > Anyway, have lots of fun! > We'll keep the ship sailing! > > Jodi > Jodi, Haven't left yet-- we launch on Wednesday, will probably spend the night in Cape Girardeau, MO, then on to Chicago. Or Schaumberg on Thursday. Conference is Friday, Sat, Sunday. On Monday, up to Milwaukee. Not sure just yet when we'll head back, but we must be in by Sunday, the 21st. The ethernet card on my main computer died, so I have no email on it. Am trying to get the lap top set up. Probably won't have time to be online tomorrow through Monday. Gotta finish baking bread to take with me. Breakfast -- Cheddar-Parmesan Mini quiches. Travel Lunches -- Avocado Turkey rollups. Dinner: probably eat out. At the conference, breakfast will again be quiches. For lunches, I'm having leaf lettuce & tomato, with marinated artichoke hearts, and a chopped chicken breast. Friday dinner will be a salad and a bowl of bison florentine with shredded parmesan. Saturday dinner will be SPinach and cheese stuffed pork roll slices, butternut squash. Desserts will include pecan macaroons, apple-cranberry-blueberry compote, date-walnut cake (think a homemade Larabar with whole nuts instead of pieces). Anyway -- ya'll know the rules when I'm running around the countryside: Focus on making SCD so integral a part of your lives that you can hardly remember what pre-SCD is like. Focus on good SCD eating. Focus on helping each other and any newcomers to become or remain integral parts of the SCD family. Above all, think healthy! -- Marilyn

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. You better believe I enjoyed getting the good news. I get twitchy whenever I have to have the labs -- which is every four months for another year. I sure wasn't expecting a cancer diagnosis last year. I never know what to expect each time the labs come due... but of course, I'm always praying that it will be negative. This is especially true since a friend of mine died of cancer while I was in Milwaukee, and I learned another acquaintance's cancer had recurred around the two year mark. How did I celebrate this negative? Well, I went out to eat with friends, and bought myself a good book. As for what ELSE Harry and I did to celebrate, uhm, well, that's none of anyone else's beeswax! <g> We'll probably do it again on Thursday, since it will be our 33rd wedding anniversary! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

From basic fermentation? http://www.backwoodshome.com/blogs/JackieClay/2007/11/27/readers-question-mother-of-vinegar-and-goat-milk/ If you want to try making your own cider vinegar, you can use a bit of the mother to “start” your new vinegar because it contains the correct yeasts and bacteria to acidify your “hard cider”, making it turn into vinegar. I'm trying to find the posting where Elaine said not to use unfiltered vinegar, but I do not have time right now. Guest guest
Did you notify them? I'm sure they would check it out quickly, and any errors are unintentional. I have been very happy with my orders from them. I have their cookbook and Elaine wrote the intro.
