Mike's carving is beautiful. Is he from the Pacific Northwest or is his work just that style? My cousin's son (I guess that makes him a cousin too:) is a totem carver. He is from Ketchikan Alaska and he is a native carver. He is half Tlingit Indian. His name is Fred Trout. No, he is actually a Canadian from the Mohawk tribe, raised in northern NYS, never been to the PNW that I know of, or anywhere in the West for that matter. It's just his style. He puts a huge amount of research into his work.
