Guest guest
I don't know why Dan's vehicle was towed. There was no reason for it and I'm sure Dan told the cops he had a friend who would come get it. Dan always says the police have it in for him and sometimes I think he is right:) The thing is they are not just hurting Dan or "teaching him a lesson"--they are hurting his kids the most. Dan has mental health issues and they barely make it from month to month on the money he gets. He can't hold down a regular job because of his problems so he cuts firewood to sell. If he was able to work every day he would make fair money, but he doesn't. So he and the kids suffer financially. Dan is very paranoid and won't get a lawyer because he doesn't trust them. He doesn't trust most people but usually trusts us. We are very careful how we deal with Dan. He really is a good guy and a moral person. He loves his kids so much. But he doesn't trust "authority" at all. He has a history with the police and has literally sued every judge in the County. Part of his history with the cops is that he mooned them several years ago. So as a result, Dan is not their favorite person:) lol Compounded by all of Dan's feelings against 'authority' --he doesn't trust CPS at all. We have kept the fact that I used to work for CPS secret. I was so afraid it would come out when I was working with the sheriff's office, the CPS Hotline and the local CPS workers these past few days. Thankfully it did not! big hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The 16 year old is NOT responsible for her father in any sense, legal, moral or otherwise, but that still won't make a difference if that is the way she is thinking and feeling. I hope your son has luck with the towers, why did they tow it, anyway? That's a lot of money, and between the two and the bond...no way...just too much. He needs a lawyer a.s.a.p, can he get legal aid? ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- re: cps brought kids So far, so good. But the 14 year old thinks she has strep throat. (big groan from me). I've been making her hot tea and hopefully she will feel better.CPS didn't open a case on the kids so there will be no help with costs. If we can get a power of attorney from dad then we can get them to the doc. They have medicaid but we don't have permission (poa) to take them to the doctor. Their dad called this morning from jail to talk to the kids. He says it looks like he can be bonded out but he doesn't have the money and we certainly don't. His bond would be $650. He was arrested because he has a bench warrant. He was convicted several years ago of "squatting" on property. The truth is he had a verbal agreement with the landowner to buy the land. I know that's true because I was there when he was on the phone with the landowner talking about it and I could hear part of the conversation. Then for some reason the landowner decided not to sell the the "dad" and had the cops come to evict him and then said he was squatting. The judge in this case has a history of judicial misconduct but the "dad" hasn't had any luck getting anyone to listen to him. His vehicle was towed yesterday. I found out this morning the cost today of the towing is $315. Each day another $20 is added on. I'm afraid the "dad" is going to lose his vehicle over this because he won't be able to redeem it. My son is going to go talk to the guy at the towing place and see if he can get the price lowered any. Wish my son luck please! My son will be doing most of the cooking. Son looked through the pantry earlier and planned out some inexpensive meals for the next week. I did cook breakfast this morning--just hot cereal and toast. The kids are sad, but the 16 year old is distraught. She feels responsible for helping her dad and is trying to find someone who can loan her money to get him out of jail. Sad situation for a 16 year old to be in for sure.hugs to all SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
The towing company can't just tow a vehicle with no reason. That's theft and with the fees, it also is extortion. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- re: cps brought kids So far, so good. Guest guest
Oh, I'm sure the deputies requested it be towed. But the question is---why? Pattie (the 16 year old) has made friends with a guy from Salvation Army. He has been in touch with me several times since Dan was arrested. Salvation Army guy is trying to get the money together to redeem the vehicle from the towing company! SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
