Guest guest
Notice the rescue pod is on the front page of this months JEMS and we have been told it's received a Class 2A recommendation but at last weeks Colorado EMS Conference it was reported: I would caution both you about using or implementing the device. As recently as last weekend we were notified (at the EMSAC conference) that the large multi city study that was looking at this device stopped the study early as the device was actually showing some harm and no benefit when compared to traditional non-stop CPR. Colwell had the latest data and the information from the study last Friday afternoon about an hour after they suspended the trials. DGH ditched them almost 6 months ago. I would not waste the $75 -100 a piece this things cost. About the only beneficial thing the device offers is the blinking metronome light that signals you when to bag. Beyond that it is a waste. The literature out there is not all that compelling and most of it was supplied or sponsored by the manufacturer. manufacturer.blckld@...> Can anyone share there experiences and weather you are carrying the pod's currently or not? Thanks Jim<
