doesn't really seem like it's doing anything. I followed the instructions to a

tee. I put in SCD yogurt + honey mixture. It's just that after about 40 min in

the machine the stuff that comes out looks really no different than the stuff I

put in. Maybe a tad thicker - but not really. I expected it to at least be

slightly solidified. Then I have to put it in the freezer for a few hours for

it to harden and really look like ice cream. I guess I'm wondering, what's even

the point of processing the mixture in the machine? Why not just freeze the

yogurt/honey mixture directly, wouldn't you get almost the same thing?

Was your bowl frozen for at least 6 hours before you processed it? Mine definitely doesn't look like ice cream when its done, but it IS thicker. I think the instructions do say you have to freeze the ice cream for a couple hours after processing, so that's supposed to happen. I think that if you don't process it before freezing it, it will just be a solid ice block. IF you process it first, then you can at least scoop some out. I have one and made blueberry yoghurt last weekend.

Mine works best if the bowl has been in the freezer over night and all

the ingredients are chilled thoroughly. The result was very thick

frozen yoghurt ... a bit thicker than soft ice cream. If I don't

chill all the ingredients, I get a much softer product.

I used whole milk yogurt and later also whipping cream yogurt. The cream yogurt

was thicker yes, but I guess I meant given a particular type of yogurt, the

thickness isn't much more after processing.

My bowl was frozen for at least 24 hours and was definitely cold. The liquid in

the walls of the bucket did not make a sound. That's interesting, so you think

it won't be scoopable without the ice cream maker processing - I'm try it and

In my case the bowl is definitely chilled overnight. The yogurt also comes

directly out of the fridge so it is chilled. The only thing that isn't chilled

is the honey - but I imagine chilling it would make it very hard to pour and

mix.

Hi Bruce, I don't have an ice cream maker but I tried putting a cup of yogurt in the freezer to have "frozen yogurt" and I had to use an ice pick to try to eat it, not a good idea to try just freezing it. I think the process of whipping it must give it the softer consistency.

Never had any problem with sorbet or fz yogurt. Just make sure your container has been sitting in the freezer for 48 hours. You want it good and cold. When making the fz yogurt if it is dripped, make sure it is cold, sorbet stick it in the freezer before you put it in the ice cream maker. Good luck
