Guest guest
I remember having issues as a little girl as well. Occasionally (not always) I used to tell my mom my " pee-pee " burned and there was really nothing to do but wait it out. It's been painful since the first time I attempted intercourse years ago and hasn't relented. It's weird to think some of us may have had these issues since we were young but didn't quite realize it at the time. > > Hi. Guest guest
When I was a small child I remember that I would hurt down there and I told my mother and she laid me down on the bed and washed my vulva. After a couple of times I started doing it myself and that solved the problem every time. But it didn't help when I was hit with vulvodynia. Ora >Hi. Guest guest
As I've gotten older, when I've felt the itching I would wash too and a lot of the time that helps. That was interesting about the Lichen Sclerosis. I'll have to wait until I get to the doctor or an appointment with Rhonda to really find out. > > >Hi. Guest guest
I am just so frustrated right now. I am learning so much on this and happy pelvis' group and everyone says " go to the doctor " do this and that and I don't have health insurance to go! I wish that I would have known about this stuff a year ago when I had insurance, but now I still won't have it for I don't know how long b/c we can't even get individual health insurance! I have scraped up the money to see Rhonda twice and hope that it is enough...though it doesn't sound like it from everyones experience. I'm tired and mad that our health care sucks and I can't do anything about it. I would like to get well, but I can't afford it...and the worse part about it is that I live 20 minutes from Rhonda and have tons of drs here that would be good and know what they are doing, but can I see any of them? NOOOOO!!! It makes me just want to scream. Before, I could have had all of this paid for for the most part, and now...it is all on me. I have to leave my daughter everyday to go back to work and I HATE it! But, somehow we have to pay the bills. And even with that, my job does not give me any benefits and my husband is on unemployment that is about to run out because the union can't get any work!!! I'm thankful that the vv doesn't ruin my life but maybe if it did, I would have looked into help when I had insurance...of course I guess that is not true b/c it took my midwife (4th doctor) to diagnose it and she didn't do that until 2 months before the insurance ran out. No time to try anything. I also don't know what of these things that I can try since I am breastfeeding and don't know how that is changing my body and what my hormones will be like when I stop (in probably a year) although, will I be pregnant by then and start all of this again? Who knows. Is there anyone out there that is breastfeeding and dealing with these issues too? What have you chosen to do? I am on bio-identical progesterone (which I need), but some of the other stuff...ie DHEA, testosterone and maybe estrogen seem contraindicated. I'm sorry for the vent. It's been building for awhile and I've almost stopped reading the posts b/c they are frustrating me more. Take care, in Chicago >>>>>>As I've gotten older, when I've felt the itching I would wash too and > a lot of the time that helps. That was interesting about the Lichen > Sclerosis. You could call different ones in your area and see how knowledgeable (or how often) they work with vulvar skin conditions. I seriously doubt that Rhonda would be able to help you determine if you have LS or not. I'm sure she's worked on women over the yrs. that have vuvlar skin conditions, but I'm sure she'd tell you to see a doc..... it's at least worth getting checked out.
